10th blog recap

This is my 10th blog and it's sad because its my very last blog. In my last blog I started to recap the stuff I said in my previous blog and this blog I will continue to do that.
We are starting from my 5th blog.

fifth blog: On my 5th blog, I talked about the four animals that are going extinct in Ontario. In my opinion, it is very surprising to find out that the American bagger, bald eagle, eastern wolf and the gray fox are at risk. It's surprising because these are common animals that a person may see every day and they would not assume that they are at risk.

Six blog: In my six blogs I talked about the most common animals in the world a person would own in their home. It shocks me to find out that the fish is the number one animal a person would own in their home, In my opinion fish don't do anything they just swim around and eat, but I believe people choose to have fish as pets because they don't do anything and they aren't any work. The second most common animal is the cat in opinion its not surprising cause cats aren't any work like a dog and doesn't need to be taken out.

Seventh blog: In my 7th blog, I talked about the different charities that help endangered animal. In my opinion, these charities are really important because they help save the animals. The four charities that I have chosen is
  • International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW)
  • Sea Shepard Conservation Society
  • Defenders of Wildlife
  • Panthera
  • Save the Manatee Club
  • these charities are important because they are all different charities that have different goals and different animals to save.
Eight blog: On my 8th blog, I talked about three different animals that people wouldn't think are endangered but are. The three animals where the Zebra, the alligator and the coral which isn't considered an animal but a species. I also pointed out one thing that makes these animals endangered,
the zebra is endangered because of the zoo, the alligator because they are hunted for their skins and coral is endangered by scuba divers, because once the coral is touched by a human it dies.
I thank you so much for reading my blogs

    9th blog recap

So this is my 9th blog, and it's very sad because it's my second last blog. In every of my other blog, this blog will be the same it will contain me talking about animals. Endangered animals, animals extinction or animals in general.

So in this blog, I'm just going to do a recap of everything that I talked about in my previous blogs

First blog: What is extinction everyone has a different opinion on extinction, but in my opinion extinction is when a species or organism is no longer in existing. This means that the species once existed, but can no longer be found. The species can only be seen in photos.

Second blog: my second blog talked about Animals that have come extinct. In my opinion the most famous animal that has gone extinct is the dodo. The dodo bird may have a weird name but scientist only called it the dodo bird because they thought he was dumb, because of his friendly approach, but I believe the dodo was a very smart bird because it knew how to survive. The dodo bird became extinct in 1662 when they presented other animals to the island and started hunting the dodo bird. The most tragic story of an extinct animal in my opinion were the atlas bear, it's a tragic story because in the 1800 the bear were captured and turned into gladiator bears. Where they had to fight to the death for amusement for the people.

Third blog: My third blog is on the polar bears and how we cause their extinction. The extinction of polar bears is very sad because it caused by us, by global warming and climate change and there is nothing we can do. Global warming and climate change has a affect on the polar bears because it melts the ice, so the polar bears are forced to stay on dry land or drowned in the ocean.

Fourth blog: My fourth blog talked about the different causes that cause animal extinction
    1-habitat destruction
    2- over exploitation
    3-pollution
These are three causes that we can change over time. In my opinion human can pick open places instead of animals homes to help the habitat destruction. Over exploitation can be stopped, by only hunting animals at a certain time of the year and pollution can be stopped but not flushing toxic product in the toilet.

    Endangered Species

In my last blog, I talked about the different charities that help different animals survive. Each charity is amazing because they have the same goal but help different species. In this blog, I'm going to talk about Extinct animals. These animals that I'm going to talk about animals, are animals that you would not assume are endangered.

The first animals is the Zebra the zebra was called a threatened animal in 1979. The zebra is a threatened animal for several reason habitat fragmentation and agricultural livestock organization. There is also another reason why the amount of Zebra has decreased over the years, it's because of the zoo. In my opinion the zoo doesn't take animals to save them, they take them to make money by taking animals such as zebras out of their habitat, that lowers their pollution and make their species endangered.

The second animals is the Alligator, the alligator mostly habitat in Florida and other hot places. The alligator was listed as a lower risked animals. They were at high risk but, after the law was changed and people were starting to get in trouble for hunting alligator for their meat and skin. In my opinion, by changing the law and helping the alligator,it really helped them to lower their risk of endangerment.

My third animals isn't even an animal it's a species,it coral. People don't think of coral as endangered but it is a threatened species that hold our whole ecosystems together. The coral reef has lost 80 to 90 percent of their population. The reason for why the coral reef population is decreasing it's because once the coral reef is touch it dies. In my opinion to save the coral reef is to not bring a scuba diver near any places containing coral reefs.

Their is so many endangered species all over the world that can be saved by one step

    Different Charities That Help Animals

In my last blog, I talked about the most common animals, human have in their home. In this blog, I'm going to talk about the different charities that help to raise money to save the animals that are going extinct in the world.

There are 5 different charities that I am going to talk about that try and help endangered species

    1. International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW)
    2. Sea Shepard Conservation Society
    3. Defenders of Wildlife
    4. Panthera
    5. Save the Manatee Club
The International fund for animal welfare was founded in1969. In my opinion, this charity is the most amazing charity they help endangered animals and protecting a whole population (for examples: this charity helps save elephants from illegal killing and trading their ivory). The second charity is Sea Shepard Conservation Society established in 1977. This charity is amazing because they help animals that live in the sea. They go by the saying "if the oceans die, we die" I like this quote because they are true, we live on animals that live in the ocean and if the ocean dies we will lose one of our food sources. The third charity is the Defenders of Wildlife, this charity was established in 1947. This charity is one of my favorite because they don't just help animals they help endangered plant species to. This organisation helps all endangered animals and plant species in North America. The fourth organisation is Panthera, this organisation helps cats all over the world (they help tigers, jaguars, lions and snow leopards) this organisation is amazing because they are helped by Shania Twain and I think this is fanatics because having help from celebrities helps the organisation be bigger and helps more endangered animals around the world. The fifth organisation helps save the Manatee, it is called save the manatee club, it was established in 1981.

    Popular Animals

Today I decided to change up my blog post, instead of talking about animals that have gone extinct, or animals that are endangered of going extinct. I'm going to talk about the most common/popular animals in the world that a human may own in their home.

    •  142 million freshwater fish
    • 88.3 million cats
    • 74.8 million dogs
    • 16 million birds
    • 24.3 million small animals
    • 13.8 million horses
    • 13.4 million reptiles
Numbers of animals families may contain in their homes.

These are statistics above are from the United-State of America, they show the most popular/common animals owned by humans or a household family. In my opinion Cat and Dog should be the most popular animals a family would own. I believe, families prefer bigger dog for a watch dog and to feel more protected in their home. People that have smaller dogs are people that bring their dog everyone, a person that owns a smaller dog is a person that live alone, or live in a small houses and have small backyard. As for, cats in my opinion people that own cat often live alone, they're lonely or lazy,  Cats are less work then dog that's why older people may have cats.  They don't need to be taken out like a dog. In my opinion the amount of people that own a cat is larger than the amount that own a dog because more people today are allergic to dogs than cats. Also, people work and often are too busy to take care of a dog, and cats are not any work. The number one animal families own, is the freshwater fish this came as a shock to me. I don't understand why the number one animal owned by humans are fish, all fish do is swim around in a bowl you can't play with them like a dog or pet them like cats.

    Species At Risk In Ontario

Welcome back to my blog, In my last blog I talked about how human affect animals extinction and  what they would need to stop doing if  they wanted to save the animals existence. In this blog I'm going to talk about 4 species that are at risk in Ontario. I've decide to chose Ontario to show people that they're endangered species all over, even in your community.

The first animal is a mammal, that lives all over Ontario in the tall grass prairie, sand barrens and farmland. Its the American badger, the American badger is threaten by habitat destruction and being hit by cars. The American badger is a short animal and resembles a weasel.

The second endangered animals in Ontario is in bird category and its the bald eagle. The bald eagle lives near several different habitats and forest, they stay near forest for there food sources of fish and other animals. The bald eagle is a threaten animals, by the development of housing and industries.

The third animal is the eastern wolf a animal from the mammal group. The eastern wolf lives in mixed forests and is endangered because of habitat destruction, forest destruction into farmland. Only 500 eastern wolf can be found in all of Canada.
The four endangered animals is also a mammal its the grey fox. The grey fox lived in the forest and marshes, The animals is endangered by the cold climate of Canada. The grey fox can usually be found in warmer climate.

All of this animals, are animals in our community and we should take care of them and make sure they don't go extinct because so many animals have already became extinct and we don't want any more to leave the earth. I believe animals contribute so much to our earth and we should help them not to be endangered.

How Can We Help Stop The Extinction Of Animals?

In this blog, I'm going to talk about how people affect the extinction of animals and what they would need to stop doing if they wanted to save the life of animals.I believe humans are one of the main causes of several animals going extinct or other being extinct. In my opinion animals don't go extinct for no reason there's always causes and consequences for example, humans caused some of the global warming and the consequences for that is the polar bears being endangered and dying. They're 3 reason below how humans affect the extinction of animals.

Shady trees in the green forest1-habitat destruction
    2- overexploitation
    3-pollution

NUMBER ONE: Habitat destruction. Habitat destruction is caused by overpopulation of humans, because the more humans that come on earth the more forest we need to eliminate, to make room/community for them. By eliminating the forest we destroy several animals habitats. In my opinion we can fix this problem by not destroying the forest to make houses and communities but using open fields or places that are already communities instead.
NUMBER TWO: Overexploitation. "Overexploitation is the over use of wildlife and species." Overexploitation is caused by humans that overhunt and overfish. If humans hunt  a specific human they become endangered and if humans continue they we become extinct.
NUMBER THREE: Pollution. There is two pollution that human causes that affects animals, the pollution in the air and pollution in the water. The pollution in the air is caused by industries, burning fossil fuels and farming chemicals. The pollution in the air can give animals several disease and make the  animals endangered. In my opinion we can fix this problem by car pooling and making less industries. The water pollution is caused by sewage and waste water created by human for example cruises and other things. We can help by not flushing medicine, baking products and other things down the sink.

little fact: human caused 322 animal extinction in the past 500 years

    Polar Bear Extinction

    Animals going in extinct

Animals are important creatures in the life of humans. Its very rarely for someone not to have a animal. Animals are a mans best friend, a family member and so much more. People that have animals treat them like family. In this blog I'm going to talk about a endangered animal and how our leaving affect them.

The polar bear is a remarkable animal they can gallop as fast as a horse and run 40 kilometer a hour, short distance. The polar bear is one of the most endangered animal on the earth today. The polar bear lives in very cold climates. Why is the polar bear endangered? The polar bear is not endangered because they are being hunted by humans or by predators for a meal. The polar bear is at the stop of the food chain but why are they endangered you ask?. Well its one word that may shock you its US and how we treat the earth and the environment. We cause the major affects on global warming and climate change to our earth,  the life of several animals including the polar bear are endangered because of us. Global warming is caused by the expansion on green houses (created by humans). The carbon dioxide level have never been higher, on the earth and the earth is getting warmer everyday. How does the climate change and global warming affect the polar bears? Because are earth is getting hotter and its not letting the heat from the sun go back to space, the polar bears are forced to stay on dried land or drowned in the sea. The polar bears are forced to stay on the dried land because the sea is no longer frozen and they will drowned in the water if they did. The polar bear food change has changed because of global warming, the polar bear can't hunt because the sea is no longer frozen, so the polar bears starve to death and die.

    Animals That Have Gone Extinct

In my last blog, I talked about animal extinction and how it affect our society. In this blog I'm going to talk about the different kind of animal, that have gone extinct and what kind of role they played on our earth.

Image result for dodo birdThere are so many animals that have gone extinct in our world. In my opinion the most famous animal extinct is the dodo bird. You can find the dodo bird in several movies like Alice in wonderland, and in the TV show like Phineus and Ferb. Some might disagree, but I find the dodo not a very appealing bird. The bird weighed around 23kg with a chubby body, short legs and a short neck. His characteristic didn't help the dodo bird from getting captured in 1662. The bird was first seen in 1598, the dodo is a flightless bird from the east of Madagascar, the Indian ocean. I believe the dodo was a very smart bird even if they called him the dodo bird. In my opinion they called him a dodo and figure he was dumb because he had a friendly approach. The dodo bird became extinct in 1662, when humans presented other animals to the island and became hunting the dodo bird .After the dodo birds extinction, 300 years at around the same time a tree went extinct, scientist figure out that the dodo bird gave existence to this tree by eating its fruit and planting the seeds. The dodo bird didn't affect any food chain till after the humans presented animals to the island, the bird had no predator and lived on fruit. There are so many other amazing creatures that have gone extinct (here is names of animals that have gone extinct in North America) America cheetah, American lion, camelops, Mexican horse and more.
In my opinion, the most tragic stories of extinction is of the Atlas bear. The atlas bear was the only bear that inhabited Africa, they could be found in the mountains of the northeast of the continent. The animals started becoming extinct in the Roman empire. When they were not only hunted but captured. The bears were then made into gladiator bears and had to fight to the death. The last bear was shot and killed in the 1800's.

What Is Extinction? How Does It Affect Us?

To understand how extinction affects us and the earth, you need to understand what it is. There are several definitions of extinction but not all of them mean the same thing. In my opinion, extinction is when a species or organism is no longer existing. So, the species is no longer on our earth and no longer comes into existence. All over the world, animals have gone extinct for several reasons. For example, habitats issues, food shortage, and climate change can all be factors of extinction. But another cause of animal extinction is humans, they kill the animal for one part of its body and sell it. For example, an elephant is killed for their ivory and it's then sold to make money. I believe that's not right. Elephants are now one of the few animals that are going extinct. Over 905 animals are already extinct and the numbers will double over time. In my opinion,  each animal was put on this earth for a purpose, some to feed other animals, or to help mankind.
Image result for cute elephant pictures
Animal extinction affects us in so many ways, one being the food chain. The sea surface temperature continues to rise, which affects the animals in the water to being close to extinction, like plankton and other smaller species. If that continues it can affect bigger species on our food chain like fish and whales, one of our major food sources. In addition, people use medicine everyday and we retrieve those products for medicine from plants. To live, the plants need to rely on insects for pollination and if the number of insects decrease, the plant will struggle to survive and will eventually die. Also, with the extinction of animals we will be more open to diseases. Many animals have resistance towards certain health problems, including Lyme disease.
Those animals help the disease from spreading to other animals and humans. Without those animals, the diseases could spread and will put humans at higher risk to getting those diseases. Plus,  with the decreasing of animals, the economy will lose several jobs like fisherman, hunter, and beekeeping, which will put our economy in a bad place. That's why instead of helping with the extinction of animals, we should prevent it. Personally,  I love animals and I believe they are a humans best friend and they should stay on this earth as long as we do.
